This option appears in the Configuration menu only if you have enabled the Cheque Printing option in the Administration > Configuration > Features / Options > Accounts tab. By using the Cheque Printing option, you can create and configure different formats in which a cheque can be printed. On clicking the Cheque Printing option, a Select Format for Cheque Configuration window appears.
On the left hand side of the window, a pane displays already created formats and on the right hand side of the window, various buttons appear to for creating, configuring the Cheque Printing Format. Various buttons that appear in the window are:
· Add Format
· Modify Format
· Delete Format
· Configure Format
· Read Config Data from File
· Write Config Data to File

Add Format

Click this button to create a new format. On clicking the Add Format button, a Document Format – Add window appears. Specify name of the format in this window.

Modify Format

Click this button to modify name of an existing format.

Delete Format

Click this button to delete an existing format.

Configure Format

Click this button to configure a format. On clicking this button, a Cheque Configuration for Format window appears with following groups:
· Select Format Type
· Print Settings
· Cheque Settings
Select Format Type
Under this group, following data fields appear:
· Select Scale Mode for Printing - Select whether you want to specify measurement in inches or millimeter.
· Select Printing Mode - Select the mode in which you want to do the printing i.e. Portrait mode or Landscape mode.
Print Settings
Under this group, following data fields appear:
· Set Printer Configuration - Specify 'Y' in this data field to set the printer configuration.
· Printer Driver - Select the Printer Driver from the list.s
· Top Margin (Page) - Specify top margin for the page.
· Left Margin (Page) - Specify left margin for the page.
Cheque Settings
Under this group, following data fields appear:
· Cheque Height - Specify height of the cheque in inches or millimeter as you have specified in the Select Scale Mode for Printing option.
· Cheque Width - Specify width of the cheque in inches or millimeter as you have specified in the Select Scale Mode for Printing option.
Configure Cheque

Click this button to configure cheque format. By using this button, you can design cheque by using the drag and drop feature. Along with this, you can also preview the cheque design at the time bottom of the window. The window is divided into three panes, Top Pane, Bottom Left Pane and Bottom Right Pane. Top Pane is basically used for designing cheque format wherein you can drag and drop components as per your requirement. Bottom Left Pane displays the preview of the cheque. Bottom right pane displays all the data fields and options through which you can configure the cheque. Given here is a screenshot of Cheque Configuration for Format window.


Various data fields and options that appear in the pane are:
· Add Control - Click this button to add a control in the cheque. After adding a control, you can set properties of the control such as whether control is for image, data field or plain text.
· Set Default Configuration - Click this button to reset the current settings to default settings as set by BUSY.
· Specify Cheque Image in Preview - Enable this option to specify cheque image to be shown in preview. After enabling this option specify the path where cheque image is kept. This would help in designing cheque more conveniently as you can directly view the positioning of various fields or control added by you.
· Properties - Under this group, you can set the properties for the control added. Various options available under this group are:
o Type - Select type of the component i.e. whether the component will display plain text, an image, Bar Code or value of any data field.
o Value - Select value for the component. If you have selected Plain Text option in the above data field then specify the text to be displayed in the label.
o Caption - Specify caption for the component.
o Image Path - Specify the path from where image is to be picked.
o Top - Specify top margin for the component.
o Left - Specify left margin for the component.
o Height - Specify height of the component.
o Width - Specify width of the component.
o Alignment - Select alignment for the text to be displayed.
o Padding Char - Specify padding character.
o Font Name - Select font name in which text is to be displayed.
o Font Style - Select font style in which text is to be displayed.
o Font Size - Select font size for the text.
o Max Char - Specify maximum characters to be used in the component.
o Max Decimal - Specify maximum decimal paces to be used in the component.
o Underline - Specify 'Y' if you want to underline the text.
After entering the required details, click the Ok button to save the configuration.
